Designing your Kids Room with Motorized Shades

DIY How to Design Your Kids’ Room

You have to keep a lot of things in mind when you do your home interiors, especially when decorating the children’s room. You may be missing the point if you think that you can use flat colors and regular wall stickers in the kids’ room also. Present day children are sure of what they want and it may not be very easy to decorate their room. In general kids are a little fickle minded and may not like something which they really liked just a few days back.  It is also important to change things whenever needed. Items that are used by toddler become completely useless when they are 5. You must keep all the factors in mind when making strategies as well as maintain a balance between creativeness and functionalities. Check some of the tips mentioned below:

Select a suitable color combination with an attractive theme: Don’t get too traditional and avoid painting a baby girl’s room all pink and blue for a baby boy. The wall painted pink or blue is perfect for nurseries but can look monotonous when the children grow up. It may not be possible to renovate every few years and it is wise to think of something different and choose color combinations that are suitable even after the child is older. The colors you select should be bright enough, yet not to childish. Motorized blinds work very well and look great in sunset orange, pistachio green and mauves for children’s room.

Divide the rooms in different zones: It is common to see children imitating elders and their parents and like to use different rooms for playing, studying and sleeping. It may not be possible to have three separate rooms and you can create different zones in the same room. You can use different themes to partition rather than placing dividers. It is important for all the themes to blend with each other as well as match the activity designated for that space. Very contrasting themes tend to add confusion instead of attraction.

Be creative: Keep in mind that your aim is to design a room that the children will like and it should also serve all purposes. This can be done by thinking like a young child while using your imaginations. You can blend creativity and functionality to generate a great ambience. Rather than traditional curtains you can use stylish motorized window and design a hanging garden with pictures or place cut-outs of their favorite characters. You can even create a unique collage with the child’s photographs from different ages.
